About the data
Every planning application in Ireland is public. Councils publish them on their own portals and, since 2019, into one national feed: the National Planning Applications Database, run by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with Tailte Éireann. It is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
Lodged copies new applications from that feed every night, tags each one by the trades it looks relevant to, and shows or emails you the ones that match your settings. We add nothing to the record and we change nothing in it. We do not collect applicant names, even though the feed carries them, because the person that a tradesperson should ring is the agent named on the council file.
The feed is rebuilt overnight, but each council pushes on its own schedule. Most are one to two days behind their own portal; a few are slower. The table below shows the latest received date we hold per county so you can judge for yourself.
What this is not. It is not the statutory planning register, it is not planning advice, and the trade tags are automatic guesses over free text. If anything matters, open the council file, which is linked from every item.
